Includes the introduction of this Frequently Asked Questions Page and changes to the Main Menu.  No other changes are of note to date.

Where can I find more information on best viewing options?

IE4/5 & Netscape users will need to refresh their screens if there is corruption.  Further support for Netscape is planned.

The site has been optimised for users with a viewing setting of 1024x768 and the font "monotype corsiva".  When you click on the link you will be asked to save this file to your computer.  

Choose to save it to "C:\Windows\fonts" in Windows 9x and "C:\Winnt\fonts" for NT users.  Ideally, the best option available is to download and/or install the newest (latest) versions of Internet Explorer and Netscape.

Why do the menu pages take so long to load?

The menu pages consist of large scanned-in images from the Aumthong Restaurant.  To avoid the loss of readability, these images can only be compressed to a point.  We apologise for this inconvenience and will strive to improve this.

What is the problem with the "Reservations" link?

Some users of the website have indicated problems with the "Reservations" link that should enable their email application.  This problem is linked to a specific file on your computer called "MSHTML.DLL".  

If you use Internet Explorer version 5.0 (IE5), it is possible that this file is also version 5.0.  Whereas the best solution is to upgrade your software to IE5.5, it is not the easiest as this is a large application to download!

There are other options but they are not proven to be 100% successful.  You can click on this link - patch1 & patch2 -  and answer yes when prompted to add the file to your registry.  After you have done both patches restart your computer and try the reservations link again.

New

Plans are in motion to stop using scanned images and use HTML pages instead.  This will increase the speed with which menu pages load. 

The management of the Aumthong Thai Restaurant are pleased to announce the opening of their new restaurant, the Aumthong Thai Brasserie.

The new restaurant is located at:

        31 Kings Road, Brighton, East Sussex (along the seafront & near the Old Ship Hotel) BN1 1NR.
